Jumpstart your organic farming journey online

Jumpstart your organic farming journey online

By Scout Nelson

The Foundation for Agricultural and Rural Resources Management and Sustainability (FARRMS) is offering a free Lunch-n-Learn Webinar series for North Dakota farmers interested in organic farming transition.

Starting November 14th, every Tuesday until December 5th, from noon to 1 p.m. CT, you can join experts online via Zoom to uncover the ins and outs of organic certification. Whether you are tech-savvy or new to online learning.

This is more than just a webinar; it’s a gateway to a community passionate about sustainable farming. Over four sessions, you'll get the real scoop on organic farming from certified growers and specialists. They'll navigate you through everything from the initial steps to certification, planning your organic system, and finally, how to empower yourself through the transition.

Hear from voices like Paul Lepp from Beagle Hill Organic Farm, who will share his insights on transitioning to a certified organic operation. It's not all about the field work; expect to delve into the paperwork, planning, and record-keeping that comes with going organic.

The USDA's TOPP initiative offers additional support to organic farming enthusiasts, with FARRMS providing tools and community support to help grow in organic farming, providing a unified community.

This opportunity to grow organically and sustainably is a first step towards a sustainable future.
