North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension invites farmers and crop advisers to its upcoming virtual meeting focused on canola production, Scheduled for March 12, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
The 2024 Getting-it-Right in Canola Production event is a key opportunity for those involved in canola farming to gain valuable insights into the latest research and recommendations for the upcoming growing season.
This free, online seminar is a collaborative effort, supported by the Northern Canola Growers Association, and aims to arm participants with knowledge to make sustainable and profitable cultivation decisions.
Experts from the university and the industry will guide attendees through a range of topics critical to both irrigated and dryland canola production. These include choosing the right cultivars, optimizing seed rates, establishing healthy plants, integrating intercropping techniques, and adhering to the best fertilizer practices.
There will be updates on managing diseases, pests, and weeds, alongside the latest in biofuel developments and market trends affecting canola.
The webinar, delivered via Zoom, requires pre-registration at the NDSU agriculture website, where attendees will find all the necessary details for joining the session. Those who sign up will receive email instructions for accessing the event.
Besides live presentations, the session will also offer certified crop adviser continuing education credits, recorded materials for later viewing, and a comprehensive list of canola production resources.
This initiative by NDSU Extension is designed to support the canola community by disseminating critical research findings and expert recommendations, ensuring farmers are well-equipped to face the challenges of the new growing season.
