Grant Applications Open for Morocco Agriculture Trade Mission

Grant Applications Open for Morocco Agriculture Trade Mission

By Scout Nelson

Grant applications are now open for North Dakota agricultural companies interested in joining a trade mission to Morocco in 2026. The announcement was made by Doug Goehring, who encourages eligible businesses to apply for funding support. The trade mission is planned for the week of April 13, 2026, and focuses on expanding agricultural exports into Morocco.

The goal of the trade mission is to help North Dakota companies build strong business relationships with Moroccan partners. By connecting producers, processors, and exporters with buyers and distributors, the mission supports long-term export growth and new market opportunities. Morocco is seen as a promising market due to its growing middle class and strong demand for imported agricultural products.

“The purpose of the mission to Morocco is to develop and foster relationships between North Dakota agricultural companies and Moroccan companies, and to expand North Dakota exports into Morocco,” Goehring said. “Morocco’s middle class is steadily increasing, it is a net importer of agricultural and related products and ranks 36th among U.S. ag export markets with a total export value of nearly $600 million.”

The mission highlights several key agricultural products with strong export potential. “Top product prospects for export to Morocco include feed grains, soybeans, tree nuts, pulses, rice, live animals and genetics, poultry, beef and dairy products,” Goehring added. These products reflect North Dakota’s strengths and Morocco’s growing food needs.

Grant funding helps reduce costs for participating companies and encourages small and medium-sized businesses to explore international markets. Support may cover travel-related expenses and trade mission activities, making global trade more accessible.
