DJI Agriculture, a pioneer in agricultural drone technology, has revealed its Insight Report for 2022/23, highlighting the growing relationship between the farming world and drone technology, highlighting its expanding presence in the agricultural sector.
DJI Agriculture's Global Sales leader, Yuan Zhang, highlighted the growing adoption of tech-empowered farming strategies by governments and farming communities, thereby increasing food yield and respecting the environment. The report covers DJI's 2022/23 achievements, drone innovations, and best practices.
Broadening Horizons
DJI Agriculture has 200,000 drones deployed in over 100 countries, with 150,000 pilots and 2,500 instructors. Governments are adapting policies to better fit aerial tech, with DJI's drones receiving airworthiness approval from China's CAAC. This tech-agriculture synergy is fostering a growing agricultural sector.
These drones have been put through their paces, trialed for a spectrum of tasks from pest management to optimizing crop yields. Conversations are underway globally, aiming to lay down gold standards for integrating drones into agriculture.
Securing Global Food Supplies
DJI's research demonstrates drones' ability to reduce global food costs and ensure food availability. They can reduce chemical use in farming, enhancing food availability and addressing environmental concerns. A Washington potato farm successfully thwarted 80% of insect damage using strategic spraying.
Innovative Endeavors and Guiding Practices
From combating pests in the Maldives to redefining grape farming, drones are proving their worth. To bolster this movement, DJI founded the DJI ACADEMY, hosting drone training sessions in locations like Thailand and Mexico.
DJI Agriculture is collaborating with chemical industry players, academic institutions, and professional bodies to develop best practices for drone-infused agriculture, incorporating tools like centrifugal nozzles and radars to enhance the agricultural management process.
