North Dakota to Host Free Child Car Seat Checkup
North Dakota Ag Connection - 07/31/2020
The North Dakota Department of Health will host a free car seat checkup on Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bis-Man Transit, located at 3750 E Rosser Avenue in Bismarck.
During the checkup, car seats will be checked to ensure they are appropriate for the child who is riding in them, ensure they are installed correctly, and check for any recalls or expired seats. Certified child passenger safety technicians will also be available to answer questions and assist parents and caregivers in the proper use and installation of their car seats.
"Car seat use can be confusing, which can lead to misuse and possible injury to a child in a crash," said Dawn Mayer, Child Passenger Safety Program Director at the Department of Health. "Last year, four out of five car seats checked were being misused. Appropriate use of car seats offers the best protection for children in the event of a crash."
