North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation scholarship opportunities 2024

By Scout Nelson

Since its establishment in 2008, the North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation (NDSF) has been a pillar of support for the beef industry. Over the years, the Foundation has awarded over 60 scholarships and provided assistance to cattle farmers affected by natural disasters. 2024 marks another year of the Foundation's commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural professionals.

In its ongoing effort to support education in the cattle industry, the NDSF is offering five sets of scholarships, specifically targeting students at North Dakota universities with an interest in agriculture.  The application deadline is set for March 1, 2024.

The scholarship categories include:

  1. Endowment Scholarships: For students pursuing beef industry-related degrees in North Dakota universities. Eligibility criteria include North Dakota residency, a minimum 2.0 GPA, NDSA membership or being a child of a member, and a completed NDSF application.
  2. Legacy Scholarship: Open to degree-seeking students with an interest in the cattle industry, requiring similar eligibility as the Endowment Scholarship.
  3. Tokach Angus Ranch Memorial Scholarships: Designed for master’s degree students in agriculture, with requirements such as a 3.0 GPA, state residency, NDSA membership, and an NDSF application.
  4. Jack and Vander Reich Memorial Scholarship: Aimed at students involved in shooting and rodeo sports, planning to study agriculture and interested in the beef cattle industry.
  5. Myron Wold Memorial Scholarship: Offers $1,000 to high school seniors heading to college for agricultural studies, with eligibility including a 3.0 GPA, North Dakota residency, and NDSA membership.

These scholarships provide a vital steppingstone for students aspiring to make a difference in the beef industry and agriculture sector. For application details and more information, interested parties can contact 701-223-2252 or visit the NDSF website at www.ndstockmen.org before the March 1, 2024, deadline.
