North Dakota Awards $1.7 Million Through ADD Fund

North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced that five agricultural projects received a total of $1.7 million through the Agriculture Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund. The awards were approved during the ADD quarterly meeting held on July 20, 2026, in Medora.

The Agriculture Diversification and Development Fund is administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. The program was created to support new and expanding value-added agriculture businesses that demonstrate financial feasibility, improve industry profitability, create jobs, and strengthen North Dakota’s economy.

The fund supports several types of agricultural projects. Eligible businesses include agricultural product manufacturing facilities, animal production operations, commodity processing facilities, food production and processing businesses, and feed or pet food processing facilities.

The following received approval:

Schweitzer’s Gourmet Meats LLC received $300,000 to purchase equipment and support construction for expanding its meat processing facility. Contact Travis Schweitzer at 701-387-4588.

Anchor Ingredients Co., LLC received $500,000 to purchase and install equipment that adds grain processing capabilities to its Hatton facility. Contact Brian Smith at 701-499-1480.

Tharaldson Ethanol Plant I, LLC was awarded $500,000 to install equipment that improves corn oil recovery efficiency. Contact Corey Aanenson at 701-347-4000.

Three Farm Daughters LLC received $100,000 to establish a co-packing facility. Contact Steve Ficocello at 218-791-0951.

Jessy Meyer received $300,000 to purchase an alfalfa pelleting machine that processes hay into livestock feed pellets. Contact Jessy Meyer at 701-400-4816.

Applications for the next Agriculture Diversification and Development Fund meeting must be submitted by October 1, 2026.
