North Dakota 4-H Foundation Grants Scholarships to Youth Members


The North Dakota 4-H Foundation has recently announced the recipients of thirteen scholarships, recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding 4-H members in the state. The scholarships aim to support these individuals as they pursue higher education and future endeavors.

Here are the scholarship recipients and their respective awards:

Eleanor R. Schulz Memorial Scholarship: Abigail Erickson from Rutland, Sargent County - $300

North Dakota 4-H Foundation Scholarship in memory of John Norgaard: Rylie Dohrmann from Dickinson, Stark/Billings County - $350

Erwin and Nora Klusmann Memorial Scholarship: Linnea Axtman from Fargo, Cass County - $500

Rosevold Memorial Scholarship: Casia Steinhaus from Devils Lake, Ramsey County - $400

Jerome Striegel Memorial Scholarship: Kaylee Kemp from Cavalier, Pembina County - $150

William Bloom Scholarship: Faith Norby from Amidon, Dunn County - $100

John DeKrey Jr. and Hannah DeKrey Scholarship: Elayna Kramlich from Tappen, Kidder County - $1,000

John D. Paulson Memorial Awards: Andrew Myrdal from Edinburg, Zach Zikmund from Park River, and Erica Ralston from Mountain, all from Walsh County - $1,000 each

Kelci Jo Willson Memorial Award: Emily Fannik from Max, Ward County - $1,000

Steve E. and Mary M. Tuhy Scholarship: Sarah Kempel from Casselton, Cass County - $500

Hanson Family Scholarship: William Stover from Larimore, Grand Forks County - $500

Julie Elijah-Barker, a North Dakota 4-H Foundation board member and scholarship committee chair, expressed the foundation's commitment to supporting the state's 4-H members through various means, including scholarships for higher education.

Elijah-Barker, who serves as the operations manager with Dakota Plains Credit Union in Lisbon, highlighted the addition of the Hanson Family Scholarship and an extra John D. Paulson Memorial award this year. She extended her gratitude to the generous donors who contribute to scholarships, educational programs, travel experiences, camping, and more, benefiting the youth involved in North Dakota 4-H.
