Registration is now open for a youth livestock showmanship and animal care camp in Ellendale, North Dakota. This multiday educational event is designed for students interested in learning more about proper animal care, handling techniques, and showmanship in a fun, supportive environment.
The camp will provide valuable experience for youth involved in agriculture, 4-H, or FFA programs, offering them the opportunity to build their confidence and skills while working with animals. Campers will take part in hands-on activities focusing on feeding, grooming, and safely leading livestock in show settings.
The goal is to teach best practices in animal welfare and responsible care. Sessions will be led by experienced instructors who are passionate about youth education and livestock management. Camp participants will learn how to prepare animals for showing and receive tips on presentation techniques that help improve performance in competitions.
“This camp is a great chance for young people to grow their skills and gain confidence around animals,” said an event coordinator. “It’s more than just a learning experience – it’s a community event where youth can connect and have fun.”
The camp is open to youth of various ages and experience levels, making it a perfect entry point for those new to livestock care as well as a development opportunity for more advanced participants.
Held in Ellendale, the camp also encourages teamwork and leadership, while helping students appreciate the role of animal care in modern agriculture. Early registration is recommended as space may be limited. For more details or to register, participants can contact the organizers directly.
