NDSU extension announces 2024 field to fork webinar series

NDSU extension announces 2024 field to fork webinar series

By Scout Nelson

North Dakota State University Extension is set to host the ninth annual Field to Fork “Wednesday Webinar Series,” starting February 21 and concluding May 1. These webinars, scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m. Central Time, will be available online, emphasizing the safe growth, preservation, and preparation of specialty-crop fruits and vegetables.

Participation in these webinars is free, but prior registration is mandatory. Interested individuals can register at the NDSU Extension Field to Fork webpage. Registered participants will receive weekly email reminders and can view archived webinars if unable to attend live sessions, which offer interactive opportunities with presenters.

Julie Garden-Robinson, NDSU Extension food and nutrition specialist, highlights the increasing popularity of these educational sessions since their inception in 2016. The webinars are part of a collaborative effort with the North Central Food Safety Extension Network and feature both NDSU experts and regional specialists.

The series explores topics like edible landscaping, gardening with arthritis, food product dating, potato cultivation, garlic and allium cultivation, creative fruit and vegetable preparation, safe canning practices, bees in gardens, natural landscaping techniques, and safe produce cultivation, supported by the U.S.  Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service.

For more information or to register, visit the NDSU Extension Field to Fork website or contact Julie Garden-Robinson at 701-231-7187 or julie.garden-robinson@ndsu.edu
