North Dakota State University (NDSU) recently held its 33rd annual Agriculture and Extension Faculty/Staff Awards program, where faculty and staff were honored for their exceptional contributions in various fields. The ceremony was marked by the presentation of several prestigious awards.
The event was graced by distinguished NDSU officials, including Greg Lardy, Vice President for Agricultural Affairs; Carrie Hammer, Interim Associate Dean; Frank Casey, Associate Director of the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station; and Lynette Flage, Associate Director of NDSU Extension.
This year's ceremony was notable for the introduction of the Celebrate, Integrate and Embrace the Power of Diversity Award, expanding the total number of accolades to 11. An impressive pool of 45 nominations was submitted for these awards.
In a significant development, the ceremony also featured the inaugural NDSU Agricultural Affairs Core Value Awards. Recipients of the faculty and staff awards were also honored with this award, which emphasizes the core values of integrity, impact, and innovation. This peer-to-peer recognition initiative aims to celebrate achievements across teaching, research, and Extension.
Highlighting the awards ceremony were the outstanding individuals who received recognition for their dedication and excellence. These included Jiajia Rao for the Larson/Yaggie Excellence in Research Award, Luis del Rio Mendoza receiving the Eugene R. Dahl Excellence in Research Award, and Blaine Novak, honored with the Earl and Dorothy Foster Excellence in Teaching Award, among others.
NDSU's commitment to excellence and its dedication to fostering a culture of recognition and appreciation were vividly displayed in this event. The university continues to lead in agricultural education and research, setting a benchmark for excellence in the field.
