NDSU Ag Forum Shares Tools to Improve Farm Profit

Farmers in the western Dakotas and eastern Montana have an opportunity to learn new ideas and strategies at the Diversity Direction and Dollars agricultural forum hosted by North Dakota State University Extension. The forum takes place January 14 at Dickinson State University in Dickinson North Dakota.

The event focuses on helping farmers improve productivity while reducing risk and managing costs. Organizers design the forum to support farms facing changing markets weather pressure and rising input expenses. The goal is to help producers make strong decisions for the next growing season and beyond.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time. The program starts at 9 a.m. with a welcome from a local radio host. The day includes several educational sessions led by experienced agriculture professionals and university specialists. A speaker panel is also part of the program to encourage discussion and shared learning. 

Topics cover many important areas of modern agriculture. Sessions include soil management in no till systems carbon data and farm income opportunities risk management planning crop market and trade outlook weed resistance control strategies and new grazing management tools such as virtual fencing. These sessions provide practical information that farmers can apply directly to their operations.

Speakers come from NDSU Extension and industry organizations. They share research based knowledge and real world experience. The forum emphasizes sustainable production of high quality food while managing financial and environmental risks.

Organizers say farmers can expect clear and useful ideas that fit regional farming conditions. The information helps producers prepare for changes in markets technology and farm practices. The forum also creates a space for farmers to ask questions and learn from others facing similar challenges.
