North Dakota is calling on bioscience companies to submit proposals for its grant program aimed at boosting the state's biotechnology industry. The program, overseen by the Department of Agriculture, supports projects that advance innovation and commercialization in various fields, including:
- Crop genetics: Enhancing the quality and resilience of crops.
- Biofuels: Developing cleaner and more sustainable fuel alternatives.
- Biomaterials: Creating new materials with unique properties for various applications.
- Biosensors: Designing tools for detecting and monitoring biological processes.
- Medical diagnostics: Improving methods for diagnosing diseases.
- Medical therapeutics: Developing new drugs and treatments.
- Farm-based pharmaceuticals: Utilizing agricultural resources for medicinal production.
"We encourage any eligible bioscience company in North Dakota to apply," said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring.
Eligibility requirements and an application template can be found on NDDA’s website at https://www.ndda.nd.gov/big.
Applications must be submitted either via email to mbodine@nd.gov or postmarked on or before the deadline of 11:59 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2024.
