Medora beef day 2024 - celebrating 50 years of ranching

By Scout Nelson

Mark your calendars for a milestone in the ranching community – the 50th annual Medora Beef Day, happening on January 31, 2024, at Boots Bar & Grill, Medora.  This special event, running from 5 to 8 pm Mountain Time, is a must-attend for anyone in the beef and ranching industry.

The evening kicks off at 5:00 p.m. with a social and registration period, followed by a hearty beef supper at 5:45, priced at only $15. After supper, at 6:30 p.m., the event transitions into an informative session featuring key speakers from the ranching world.

Dr. Greg Lardy from NDSU will open the presentations, focusing on the historical significance and future prospects of ranching in Southwest North Dakota. This talk, titled “Celebrating the Past and Looking to the Future of Ranching in SW ND-50 years of Medora Beef Days,” is sure to provide valuable insights.

Following Dr. Lardy, Dr.  Gerald Stokka will delve into the challenges faced in 2023 with his presentation “Dissecting the Perfect Storm for Open Cows in 2023.” His expertise as an Extension Veterinarian-Livestock Stewardship will offer a unique perspective on recent issues in the industry.

Remember, pre-registration is required for this event. Contact the Stark-Billings Extension Office at 701-456-7665 to secure your spot. For any inquiries or special accommodation requests related to disabilities, reach out to Kurt Froelich at kurt.froelich@ndsu.edu at least two weeks before the event.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with fellow ranchers and gain valuable knowledge in the field. Join us in celebrating half a century of ranching excellence at Medora Beef Day 2024.
