Feeder Lamb Management and Marketing Webinar to Address Sheep Industry Challenges

Feeder Lamb Management and Marketing Webinar to Address Sheep Industry Challenges

The University of Minnesota and North Dakota State University Extension are collaborating to host an informative webinar on feeder lamb management and marketing. Scheduled for Wednesday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. CDT, this virtual event aims to address critical topics relevant to sheep farmers of all scales.

Given the recent volatility and rising production costs within the sheep industry, the decision of whether to feed or market lambs has become increasingly significant.

A panel discussion featuring experienced lamb feeders will provide valuable insights and guidance on various aspects of sheep farming. The discussion will cover animal health, management strategies, and effective marketing techniques, all of which play pivotal roles in sheep production and profitability for the 2023 lamb crop.

Travis Hoffman, the sheep specialist from NDSU/UMN Extension, emphasizes the importance of understanding how to capitalize on a year's worth of hard work to inform decision-making processes. This webinar is open to all interested parties, including sheep industry professionals, farmers, ranchers, and 4-H participants.

Pre-registration is required, and participants can register at ndsu.ag/feederlamb. Upon registration, attendees will receive the Zoom link for the live session. In case of inability to attend the webinar in real-time, a recording of the session will be shared via email. For further information, please reach out to Brenda Miller at nels4220@umn.edu or Travis Hoffman at travis.w.hoffman@ndsu.edu.
