North Dakota State University Extension is hosting an informational session at the Jamestown Ram Sale on August 4 for sheep producers and enthusiasts. The 2023 Lamb Outlook and Current Issues Forum will enhance understanding of the lamb industry's potential.
Leading the engaging discussion for the sheep producer forum are two distinguished experts: Travis Hoffman, Karl Hoppe, an expert in NDSU livestock systems, is a sheep specialist who also works with the University of Minnesota Extension. They will delve into important subjects including nutrition, health, and marketing strategies to make the most of your lamb crop efforts through 2023 and beyond.
For this year's sale, sheep ranchers from North and South Dakota are displaying 40 rams and 40 ewes. At nine in the morning, preview the consignments and investigate different bloodlines, such as Dorset, Columbia, Hampshire, Suffolks, and Crossbreds. To meet a variety of demands, rams, lambs, and breeding ewes are offered singly or in pens of three.
Stay up-to-date with the sale catalog available at https://ndsheep.org/ Plus, don't miss the delectable lamb lunch served at noon, followed by the much-anticipated sale commencing at 1 p.m. held at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds, located north of Jamestown, North Dakota.
