Cultivate your garden with NDSU experts

North Dakota State University Extension invites agricultural enthusiasts to its 10th annual Field to Fork webinar series, beginning February 12, 2025. This free series, conducted on Zoom, covers the safe cultivation, preservation, and preparation of specialty-crop fruits and vegetables. Pre-registration is mandatory.

Designed to enhance the knowledge of both novice and experienced gardeners, the series will feature expert advice from regional specialists, including NDSU and the North Central Food Safety Extension Network. The interactive sessions allow attendees to engage directly with presenters, fostering a deeper understanding of the topics discussed.

The webinars will run weekly on Wednesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. through May 7. Each session aims to address key agricultural topics relevant today. The schedule is packed with diverse subjects ranging from indoor flower and vegetable transplants to food safety and soil health. Highlights include live demonstrations on salsa preservation and discussions on the science of plant lighting.

Participants can expect to gain practical tips on various aspects of gardening and food preservation, ensuring they are equipped with the latest techniques and knowledge. The session on April 16, titled "Ghosts in Your Gardens," by Janet Knodel, promises insights into common garden pests, enhancing pest management techniques.

For those unable to attend live, the webinars will be archived for future access, ensuring all registered participants can benefit from the sessions at their convenience.

This educational initiative, supported by funding from the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service, continues to build on its legacy of empowering women in agriculture through knowledge sharing and community building.

To secure a spot in this valuable webinar series, prospective attendees should register early. More information and registration details are available on the NDSU Extension's Field to Fork website.
