Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring recently introduced the Agriculture Infrastructure Grant Program, a new initiative designed to strengthen infrastructure critical to value-added agriculture businesses.
This program provides financial support for necessary upgrades to roadways, bridges, and utilities, facilitating the growth and efficiency of agriculture-related businesses.
Eligible political subdivisions can receive grants covering up to 80% of project costs, with a maximum of $1,250,000 for road and bridge projects. These improvements might include enhancing access roads and bridges leading to agriculture facilities, aiming to streamline operations and access.
For utility upgrades such as water, wastewater, electrical, and gas supply enhancements, political subdivisions and entities can secure funding up to $350,000 or 80% of project costs.
These improvements are crucial for meeting the operational needs of value-added agriculture businesses, ensuring they have the infrastructure necessary to thrive.
Those interested in advancing their agriculture infrastructure projects should reach out to Madison Bodine at 701-955-0181 or mbodine@nd.gov for more information on how to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to support the agriculture sector's growth and sustainability.
This initiative not only aims to bolster the agriculture industry but also to reinforce the economic stability of communities, making it a win-win for the region's overall prosperity.
