Be Part of the ADD Fund's Success - Apply Now

Recently, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced that $175,000 has been approved for two agricultural projects through the Agriculture Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund. The North Dakota Department of Agriculture's ADD Fund supports value-added agriculture firms that are starting up or growing and help farmers and ranchers remain financially viable while fostering economic development.

The approved projects are as follows:

• Dakota Hurd Co. LLC: This project received an award of $125,000, designated for acquiring equipment for an industrial hemp facility. The initiative aims to enhance the production and processing capabilities of industrial hemp, a valuable agricultural commodity.

• Larsgaard Wool Mill LLC: Larsgaard Wool Mill was granted $50,000 to assist in the construction of a wool mill. The mill will play a crucial role in processing wool from local ranchers, adding value to the raw material and providing employment opportunities.

The ADD Fund is open to various agriculture-related projects, including food production and processing facilities, feed or pet food processing facilities, commodity processing facilities, agriculture product manufacturing, and animal production facilities. By encouraging diverse ventures, the fund aims to bolster the state's agricultural sector and promote economic prosperity.

Those interested in applying for the ADD Fund can mark their calendars for the next grant application hearing scheduled for November 15-16, 2023, in Devils Lake. To be considered for this meeting, applications must be submitted by October 16, 2023.
