60th Annual Agriculturalist of the Year Banquet


The Agriculturalist of the Year Banquet will be held on Friday, March 22 at the Ransom County Expo Center. The social will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a short meeting and a meal to follow catered by Stiklestad Lodge. The 2024 Agriculturalist of the Year recipient will be announced as well as the 2024 Seim-Forred recipient.

Elizabeth Burns-Thompson, Inspirational Speaker, will be the entertainment for the evening. Elizabeth has a multi-faceted skill set and extensive agriculture policy and political experience across the Midwest. Throughout her professional career she has specialized in helping farmers and rural agricultural businesses sustain their voice in the political process. Her roots run deep in agriculture, having grown up on a family farm in eastern Iowa, she's held roles with the Farm Bureau, Corn Growers, as well as industry leading bio fuel manufactures in innovative carbon management technologies.

She lives in eastern Nebraska, focusing on rural policy on behalf of a large agriculture cooperative. Outside of her professional and community commitments, Elizabeth enjoys traveling, gardening, and home-improvement projects.
