The American Advertising Awards have been an amazing experience for students and has led to internships and employment by firms in Fargo-Moorhead because of this recognition,” said Andrew Stark, assistant professor of practice in the NDSU Department of Visual Arts. “As a program, we are thrilled with our students’ successes and want to continue to help them navigate and thrive in a complex world. Our focus in the NDSU School of Design, Architecture and Art is on cultivating a holistic creative community approach that immerses students in design thinking, visual communication, empathy and teaching a broad skill set. Our students are taught to be solution-based problem solvers who utilize the design thinking research process at every step.”

The American Advertising Awards is an annual award ceremony that honors excellence in advertising and cultivates the highest creative standards. The student division of the awards is designed for college student work.

Students who received a Gold ADDY will advance to the regional District 8 judging in April. District 8 encompasses American Advertising Federation chapters in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
