Delegates at the 80th NDFB Annual Meeting, held at the Bismarck Hotel and Conference Center, elected two new State Board Members and re-elected two State Board Members.
The NDFB Board of Directors is comprised of the president, elected at large, and individuals elected from each of the nine NDFB Districts, the Promotion and Education Committee chair and the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chair.
Elected to a three-year term representing District 6 is Brian Nordmark of Bottineau. Brian farms wheat, soybeans, canola, sunflowers, durum, barley, and flax. Brian's girlfriend, Tasha Gorentz and him also raise cows, sheep, chickens and horses. Brian has one son. As the District 6 Director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Bottineau, McHenry, McLean, Renville, Sheridan and Ward counties.
Elected as Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chairman is Ashley Skarsgard of Stanley. She will serve a one-year term. Ashley and her husband, Aaron, farm growing spring wheat, durum, canola, flax, soybeans, peas and barley. Ashley has been part of Farm Bureau since 2008. Ashely and Aaron have three children.
Re-elected to a three-year term representing District 1 is Craig Vaughn from Cavalier. Craig and his wife, Kelly, raise corn, wheat, soybeans, field peas and alfalfa. They also raise purebred Limousin cattle. Craig has served on the NDFB Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Committee as well as the American Farm Bureau Federation YF&R Committee. The Vaughns have two children. As the District 1 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Cavalier, Pembina, Walsh, Nelson and Grand Forks counties.
Re-elected to a three-year term representing District 5 is Tim Schoenhard of Steele. Tim and his wife, Kaylene, along with their two children have a cow calf operation and raise Registered Quarter Horses. As the District 5 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Wells, Foster, Kidder, Stutsman, Logan and McIntosh counties.
NDFB President is Daryl Lies of Douglas. Other NDFB Directors are District 2 Director and Vice President Dana Kaldor of Hillsboro, District 3 Director Val Wagner of Monango, District 4 Director Jason Skaar of Hampden, District 7 Director Lucas Lang of Sterling, District 8 Director Keith Rockeman of Grassy Butte, District 9 Director Weston Dvorak of Manning, and Promotion and Education Representative Jolyn Wasem of Halliday.
