Athletes to be Awarded Scholarships during 48th Annual Harvest Bowl



Scholarships will be awarded to 13 North Dakota State University athletes during this year's Harvest Bowl program on Nov. 18.

Highlights of the event include a Harvest Bowl dinner and awards program on Nov. 18 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo, and the Harvest Bowl football game between NDSU and the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks on Nov. 19.

Harvest Bowl scholarship awardees, sport, hometown and major are:

LeVon C. Kirkeide & Friends Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Braden Brown is a sophomore who competes in jumps for the NDSU Men's Track and Field from Bismarck, N.D., majoring in agricultural economics. He is the son of Shannon and Paula Brown.

Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Gooseneck Implement/Green Iron Equipment Harvest Bowl Endowment; Lynden and Kathy Johnson Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Hunter Brozio is a junior fullback on the NDSU Football team from Lakeland, Fla,, majoring in animal science. His parents are Jeff and Debbie Brozio.

Gene Dahl Scholarship Fund and Lauf Family Scholarship - Jaxon Edwards is a freshman pitcher on the NDSU Baseball team from Duluth, Minn., majoring in biological sciences. He is the son of Merissa Edwards.

Scott & Ann Dau Family Scholarship - Julia Gherardi is a freshman pole vaulter for NDSU Women's Track and Field from Hibbing, Minn., majoring in natural resource management. Her parents are Mandy and Paul Gherardi.

#64 Bob & #58 Bruce Yaggie Father-Son Football Scholarship and Ron & Karen Offutt Scholarship - Cody Mauch is a senior offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Hankinson, N.D., majoring in agricultural and biosystems engineering. His parents are Joseph and Stacey Mauch.

Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship; Titan Machinery Scholarship Endowment; Nipstad Family Athletic Scholarship Endowment - Mason Miller is a junior offensive tackle on the NDSU Football team from Ada, Minn., majoring in general agriculture. He is the son of Paul and Dawn Miller.

Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Andrew Morgan is a sophomore forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Waseca, Minn., majoring in agribusiness. His parents are Keith and Lori Morgan.

Patrick Memorial Benedict Harvest Bowl Scholarship Endowment and Richard and Kelly R. Sager Harvest Bowl Endowment - Owen Pentz is a junior wrestler on the NDSU Wrestling team from Croydon, Utah, majoring in general agriculture. He is the son of Eli and Krissy Pentz.

Farmers National Foundation Harvest Bowl Scholarship and John & Kay Dean Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Jacob Rodin is a senior who competes in mid-distance for NDSU Men's Track and Field from Kenmare, N.D., majoring in agricultural economics and finance. He is the son of Lenny and Sue Rodin.

Pamela and Brent Jenkins Harvest Bowl Scholarship and Hetle Family Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Onnica Stansbury is a sophomore cross country runner for NDSU Women's Track and Field from West Fargo, N.D., majoring in animal science. Her parents are Justin and Tanessa Stansbury.

NDSU Harvest Bowl Scholarship Fund and Red River Commodities Scholarship Fund - Joshua Streit is a sophomore forward for the NDSU Basketball team from Watkins, Minn., majoring in agribusiness. He is the son of Rich and Sue Streit.

Hefty Seeds Harvest Bowl Scholarship and Bob & Darlene Yaggie Football Scholarship - Spencer Waege is a senior defensive end on the NDSU Football team from South Shore, S.D., majoring in general agriculture. His parents are Lynn and Lana Waege.

Larson, Darrell Family Scholarship; Myron and Muriel Johnsrud Harvest Bowl Endowment; Glenn & Alice Ellingsberg Strouse Harvest Bowl Scholarship - Grey Zebel is a junior offensive guard on the NDSU Football team from Pierre, S.D., majoring in agribusiness. His parents are Mark and Tanna Zabel.

The NDSU Harvest Bowl program recognizes the success, dedication and hard work of outstanding agriculturists in 53 counties in North Dakota and 10 counties in western Minnesota.

An agribusiness award recipient is chosen annually. This award recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of agriculture and business in North Dakota and beyond.

Ken Grafton, former vice-president for NDSU Agricultural Affairs, will receive the 2022 award.
