10 Perent of N.D. Calving, 15 Percent of Lambing Complete

For the week ending Sunday, topsoil moisture supplies rated 29% very short, 43% short, 27% adequate, and 1% surplus, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 28% very short, 34% short, 37% adequate, and 1% surplus.
Winter wheat condition rated 9% very poor, 24% poor, 51% fair, 15% good, and 1% excellent.
Cattle and calf conditions rated 1% very poor, 6% poor, 31% fair, 49% good, and 13% excellent. Cattle and calf death loss rated 2% heavy, 42% average, and 56% light. Calving progress was 10% complete.
Sheep and lamb conditions rated 0% very poor, 4% poor, 24% fair, 60% good, and 12% excellent. Sheep and lamb death loss rated 1% heavy, 44% average, and 55% light. Lambing progress was 15% complete. Shearing progress was 25% complete.
Hay and roughage supplies rated 5% very short, 17% short, 67% adequate, and 11% surplus.
Stock water supplies rated 16% very short, 32% short, 51% adequate, and 1% surplus.
