Only N.D. Soybean and Sunflower Stocks Down from 2021



All wheat stored in all positions in North Dakota on September 1, 2022 totaled 276 million bushels, up 40% from a year ago, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. On-farm stocks of 210 million are up 112% from 2021, while off-farm stocks, at 66.4 million bushels, are down 33% from last year.

Durum wheat stored in all positions totaled 23.0 million bushels, up 33% from a year ago. Of the total, 18.5 million bushels are stored on-farm, up 48% from last year, while 4.47 million bushels are stored off-farm, down 6% from 2021.

Barley on-farm stocks are 38.0 million bushels, up 192% from last year.

Corn stocks totaled 47.5 million bushels, up 80% from a year ago. Of the total, 16.0 million bushels are stored on farms, up 208% from a year ago, while off-farm stocks, at 31.5 million bushels, are up 49% from last year.

Soybean stocks totaled 7.10 million bushels, down 1% from last year. On-farm stocks, at 730,000 bushels, are down 62% from a year ago, while off-farm stocks, at 6.37 million bushels, are up 21% from 2021.

Oat on-farm stocks, at 8.50 million bushels, are up 150% from a year ago.

All sunflowers stored in all positions totaled 149 million pounds, down 16% from 2021. Of the total, 19.5 million pounds are stored on farms, down 5% from a year ago, while off-farm stocks, at 130 million bushels, are down 17% from last year.

Oil sunflower stocks in all positions are 102 million pounds, down 14% from last year. On-farm stocks, at 18.0 million pounds, are up 16% from a year ago, while off-farm stocks, at 83.7 million pounds, are down 19% from last year.

Non-Oil sunflower stocks in all positions are 47.6 million pounds, down 18% from a year ago. On-farm stocks, at 1.50 million pounds, are down 71% from a year ago, while off-farm stocks, at 46.1 million pounds, are down 13% from last year.
