For the week ending Sunday, there were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 1% very short, 12% short, 78% adequate, and 9% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 0% very short, 9% short, 81% adequate, and 10% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 0% very poor, 3% poor, 35% fair, 52% good, and 10% excellent. Soybeans blooming was 66%, behind 74% last year and 71% for the five-year average. Setting pods was 11%, well behind 34% last year, and behind 29% average.

Spring wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 20% fair, 65% good, and 13% excellent. Spring wheat jointed was 97%, near 100% both last year and average. Headed was 81%, behind 96% both last year and average. Coloring was 21%, well behind 62% last year and 51% average. Mature was 2%, behind 11% last year, and near 6% average.

Durum wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 12% fair, 76% good, and 11% excellent. Durum wheat jointed was 95%, near 97% last year and 99% average. Headed was 65%, well behind 94% last year and 95% average. Coloring was 15%, well behind 45% last year and 39% average.

Winter wheat condition rated 2% very poor, 4% poor, 12% fair, 65% good, and 17% excellent. Winter wheat coloring was 73%, behind 86% both last year and average. Mature was 37%, well behind 59% last year, and behind 49% average. Harvested was 6%, behind 12% last year, and near 7% average.

Corn condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 24% fair, 58% good, and 16% excellent. Corn silking was 28%, well behind 48% last year, and behind 44% average.
