For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.3 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 1% very short, 5% short, 77% adequate, and 17% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 5% short, 77% adequate, and 16% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 0% very poor, 5% poor, 33% fair, 57% good, and 5% excellent. Soybeans planted was 92%, behind 100% last year and 98% for the five-year average. Emerged was 58%, well behind 92% last year and 86% average.

Spring wheat condition rated 0% very poor, 0% poor, 29% fair, 62% good, and 9% excellent. Spring wheat planted was 97%, near 100% both last year and average. Emerged was 80%, behind 97% both last year and average. Jointed was 16%, well behind 65% last year and 59% average.

Durum wheat planted was 95%, behind 100% both last year and average. Emerged was 75%, behind 87% last year and 94% average. Jointed was 14%, well behind 35% last year and 48% average.

Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 21% fair, 57% good, and 17% excellent. Winter wheat jointed was 87%, near 90% last year, and behind 93% average. Headed was 43%, behind 51% last year and 52% average.

Corn condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 30% fair, 60% good, and 9% excellent. Corn planted was 97%, near 100% last year and 99% average. Emerged was 68%, well behind 95% last year and 93% average.

Canola planted was 98%, near 100% both last year and average. Emerged was 67%, well behind 88% last year and 94% average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 10% very poor, 20% poor, 15% fair, 45% good, and 10% excellent.

Oats condition rated 0% very poor, 1% poor, 16% fair, 79% good, and 4% excellent. Oats emerged was 91%, behind 99% last year, and near 95% average. Jointed was 55%, behind 69% last year and 60% average.

Barley condition rated 0% very poor, 0% poor, 25% fair, 70% good, and 5% excellent. Barley planted was 98%, near 100% both last year and average. Emerged was 88%, behind 98% last year and 96% average. Jointed was 38%, well behind 66% last year and 59% average.

Dry edible peas condition rated 0% very poor, 0% poor, 19% fair, 75% good, and 6% excellent. Dry edible peas planted was 96%, near 100% both last year and average. Emerged was 78%, behind 88% last year and 93% average. Blooming was 1%, behind 7% last year and 18% average.

Sunflowers planted was 83%, behind 93% last year and 92% average. Emerged was 50%, behind 66% last year and 67% average.

Flaxseed planted was 97%, near 100% last year and 99% average. Emerged was 63%, well behind 85% last year and 88% average.

Dry edible beans planted was 90%, behind 100% last year and 98% average. Emerged was 60%, well behind 89% last year and 87% average.
