N.D. Canola, Flaxseed, Dry Bean Harvests Inch Towards Completion



For the week ending Sunday, there were 6.5 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 16% very short, 43% short, 39% adequate, and 2% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 13% very short, 45% short, 40% adequate, and 2% surplus.

Soybean condition rated 2% very poor, 5% poor, 36% fair, 50% good, and 7% excellent. Soybeans dropping leaves was 97%, near 100% last year, and equal to the five-year average. Harvested was 53%, behind 69% last year, but ahead of 48% average.

Durum wheat harvested was 97%, near 100% last year and 96% average.

Winter wheat planted was 90%, near 92% last year, but ahead of 82% average. Emerged was 52%, behind 63% last year, and near 56% average.

Corn condition rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 33% fair, 51% good, and 8% excellent. Corn dented was 97%, near 100% last year and 96% average. Mature was 86%, behind 91% last year, but ahead of 74% average. Harvested was 12%, behind 27% last year, and near 13% average.

Canola harvested was 92%, behind 99% last year, and near 93% average.

Sugarbeet condition rated 1% very poor, 5% poor, 38% fair, 48% good, and 8% excellent. Sugarbeets harvested was 36%, ahead of 18% last year, but behind 47% average.

Sunflower condition rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 34% fair, 57% good, and 4% excellent. Sunflowers bracts turned yellow was 95%, near 98% last year and 96% average. Bracts turned brown was 83%, behind 89% last year, but near 82% average. Harvested was 10%, near 13% last year, and equal to average.

Flaxseed harvested was 88%, behind 100% last year, and near 92% average.

Potatoes vines dry was 100%, ahead of 95% last year, and near 97% average. Harvested was 85%, ahead of 74% last year and 75% average.

Dry edible beans harvested was 89%, equal to last year, and ahead of 82% average.

Lentils harvested was 95%, behind 100% last year, but near 94% average.
