North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and U.S. Senator John Hoeven on Tuesday will join local, state and federal officials for a groundbreaking ceremony for the FM Area Diversion channel, a key component of the comprehensive flood protection project that will protect the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo metro area from catastrophic flooding.
The governor will deliver remarks about how the project will benefit the metro area and all North Dakotans.
The groundbreaking ceremony for F-M Diversion channel will take place at 11 a.m. CT Aug. 9 at 2368 173rd Ave. SE, Argusville.
