Four students will compete in the NDFB Collegiate Discussion Meet at the NDFB Annual Meeting in Bismarck Nov. 18. The meet starts at 5:15 p.m. and will take place at the Bismarck Hotel and Convention Center.
NDFB has two Collegiate Farm Bureaus, at North Dakota State University (NDSU) and Dickinson State University (DSU). Konrich Speelmon and Kyle Anderson will be representing DSU. Representing NDSU are Tyler Goplen and Stetson Urlacher. The winner will compete at the AFBF Fusion Conference in Jacksonville, Fla. in March of 2023.
The discussion meet simulates a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant. The competition is evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on a pre-determined topic. During the NDFB Annual Meeting, the four finalists will discuss how Farm Bureau can effectively support and equip young farmers and ranchers to successfully manage economic and infrastructure challenges to ensure healthy and sustainable farms and ranches across the country.
NDFB offers a collegiate and a young farmer and rancher (YF&R) discussion meet challenge. The YF&R meet will take place at the NDFB Farm and Ranch Conference, January 27-28, 2023 in Bismarck.
NDFB is the most effective general farm and ranch organization in the state of North Dakota, with more than 28,000 member families and 50 organized Farm Bureaus.
