Bismarck Hosts Pride of Dakota Holiday Event

Bismarck Hosts Pride of Dakota Holiday Event

By Scout Nelson

The Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase returns to the Bismarck Event Center with a two-day event that highlights North Dakota talent, creativity, and local business. The showcase features more than 200 companies that offer a wide range of products made in the state.

Shoppers can explore gourmet food, wine, spirits, books, jewellery, apparel, personal care items, pottery, quilting, photography, framed art, and children’s items. The event aims to connect families, local businesses, and communities during the holiday season.

The showcase is open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free, and shoppers also receive free shopping bags sponsored by the Bank of North Dakota College SAVE Plan. This makes the event accessible to families, students, and anyone who enjoys local shopping.

A real bearded Santa appears at the event, offering photo opportunities and visits for children. Santa is available on Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., taking regular breaks during the day.

New additions this year include the Pride of Dakota culinary stage, which features cooking demonstrations, and an Ag in the Classroom stage designed for kids. These activities give families a chance to learn new recipes, explore agriculture education, and enjoy hands-on demonstrations.

Retail stores are also encouraged to attend. Organizers say the showcase is a great place for shop owners to try products before placing wholesale orders. It also helps stores support small North Dakota businesses and build long-term partnerships.

Parking is free for shoppers in lots C and D. Visitors enter through door E42 on the west side of the Exhibit Hall. A full list of participating businesses is available on the Pride of Dakota website.

The Pride of Dakota program is operated by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. It helps more than 500 member companies with marketing support, events, training, and opportunities to promote their products locally and nationally. The Holiday Showcase is one of its major events, bringing communities together and celebrating local creativity.
