USDA Invests Over $10,000 in Rural North Dakota
North Dakota Ag Connection - 10/22/2020
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing over $10,000 to install a geothermal heating and cooling system in rural North Dakkota.
"Energy efficiency projects are a great investment for small businesses as they open opportunities elsewhere," said USDA Rural Development State Director for North Dakota Clare Carlson. "We want all the small businesses to know we are here for them to help in any way we can. North Dakota is our home too and we all want to make it the best place we possibly can."
In Richland County, Hankinson Hardware will use a $17,236 grant to install a geothermal heating and cooling system. This project will save the business $3,529 per year and will replace 72,754 kWh per year, which is enough energy to power seven homes.
