Public Hearings on Proposed Swine Operation in Ramsey County

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) has received an application from Grand Prairie Agriculture, LLP for a swine operation. As proposed, the facility will house a maximum of 2,499 sows and be located in Ramsey County, about 10 miles west of the City of Devils Lake.

The NDDoH is holding public hearings in two locations to receive oral comments on the application and review of the proposed livestock facility. Both hearings will be held on Sept. 12 at the following locations:

- 1 p.m. - Spirit Lake Casino & Resort

- 5:30 p.m. - Robert Fawcett Auditorium, Lake Region State College, Devils Lake

Comments on the proposed facility will be accepted by the department from Aug. 13 through Sept. 28. Written comments should be directed to the North Dakota Department of Health, Division of Water Quality, 918 E. Divide Avenue, 4th Floor, Bismarck, ND 58501-1947. The information also will be posted on the NDDoH website at www.deq.nd.gov.
