Kalk Accepts Director of Energy Systems Development

North Dakota Public Service Commissioner Brian P. Kalk has accepted the position of Director of Energy Systems Development with the Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC) in Grand Forks, N.D.

"Now more than ever we need to ensure our nation is able to be energy secure while conserving our precious natural resources. I'm excited to be joining a superb team of professionals and supporting the vision of the EERC which is To lead the world in developing solutions to energy and environmental challenges," said Kalk "Karen and I are excited about the next phase of our lives and can't thank you all enough for the kindness and friendship you have shown us during our time in public office. It has been an honor to serve as your Public Service Commissioner for the past eight years."

Brian has a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Management and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from North Dakota State University. Brian served as a member, and Chair, of the North Dakota Public Service Commission. Additionally he was a member of the National Coal Council, President of the Midwest Area Regulatory Commissioners, and served as Chair of the Clean Coal and Carbon Management Committee of the National Association of Regulatory Commissioners.
