For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.7 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 2 percent very short, 18 short, 71 adequate, and 9 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 4 percent very short, 18 short, 72 adequate, and 6 surplus.

Soybeans planted was 96 percent, near 100 last year and 99 for the five-year average. Emerged was 74 percent, behind 86 last year and 87 average.

Spring wheat condition rated 0 percent very poor, 1 poor, 16 fair, 75 good, and 8 excellent. Spring wheat emerged was 96 percent, near 98 last year and 97 average. Jointed was 39 percent, behind 58 last year and 56 average. Headed was 1 percent, near 2 last year, and behind 6 average.

Durum wheat condition rated 0 percent very poor, 1 poor, 14 fair, 77 good, and 8 excellent. Durum wheat planted was 96 percent. Emerged was 90 percent, near 94 last year. Jointed was 35 percent, behind 47 last year, and near 39 average.

Winter wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 4 poor, 15 fair, 72 good, and 8 excellent. Winter wheat jointed was 86 percent, behind 92 last year and 91 average. Headed was 29 percent, behind 39 last year and 40 average.

Corn condition rated 0 percent very poor, 1 poor, 19 fair, 73 good, and 7 excellent. Corn planted was 98 percent, near 100 last year and 99 average. Emerged was 86 percent, behind 95 both last year and average.
