For the week ending Sunday, there were 6.2 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 2 percent very short, 16 short, 62 adequate, and 20 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 8 short, 68 adequate, and 24 surplus.

Soybeans planted was 51 percent, behind 63 last year, and well behind 80 for the five-year average. Emerged was 12 percent, near 10 last year, but well behind 37 average.

Spring wheat condition rated 1 percent very poor, 1 poor, 16 fair, 77 good, and 5 excellent. Spring wheat planted was 85 percent, behind 90 last year and 95 average. Emerged was 52 percent, behind 62 last year, and well behind 78 average. Jointed was 2 percent, equal to last year, and behind 14 average.

Durum wheat planted was 87 percent, near 83 last year. Emerged was 52 percent, ahead of 47 last year, but behind 62 average. Jointed was 3 percent, equal to last year, and near 7 average.

Winter wheat condition rated 0 percent very poor, 3 poor, 27 fair, 62 good, and 8 excellent. Winter wheat jointed was 69 percent, ahead of 57 last year, but near 70 average. Headed was 2 percent, near 1 last year and 5 average.

Corn planted was 75 percent, near 76 last year, and behind 90 average. Emerged was 26 percent, near 22 last year, but well behind 57 average. Canola planted was 75 percent, behind 87 last year. Emerged was 29 percent, behind 39 last year, and well behind 61 average. Sugarbeets planted was 99 percent, near 98 last year and 100 average.

Oats condition rated 0 percent very poor, 1 poor, 32 fair, 59 good, and 8 excellent. Oats planted was 83 percent, near 85 last year, and behind 93 average. Emerged was 48 percent, near 47 last year, but well behind 71 average. Jointed was 5 percent, near 3 last year, but behind 15 average.

Barley planted was 83 percent, behind 90 last year and 96 average. Emerged was 42 percent, behind 61 last year, and well behind 79 average. Jointed was 3 percent, equal to last year, and behind 15 average.

Dry edible peas planted was 88 percent, near 87 last year, but behind 94 average. Emerged was 53 percent, near 51 last year, but behind 71 average. Sunflowers planted was 40 percent, near 37 last year, but behind 57 average. Emerged was 3 percent, near 5 last year, and behind 13 average.

Flaxseed planted was 79 percent, near 78 last year and 83 average. Emerged was 24 percent, behind 36 last year and 42 average. Potatoes planted was 80 percent, behind 94 last year and 90 average. Emerged was 12 percent, near 9 last year, but behind 24 average.

Dry edible beans planted was 46 percent, behind 65 last year, and well behind 72 average. Emerged was 4 percent, near 7 last year, and behind 19 average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 1 percent very poor, 5 poor, 22 fair, 63 good, and 9 excellent.

Stock water supplies rated 0 percent very short, 8 short, 75 adequate, and 17 surplus.
