Online Graduate Programs: Community Development
North Dakota Ag Connection - 01/14/2020

Adam Reeck, a high school history teacher from Lakeside, Ariz., chose to pursue a master's degree from NDSU because of its affordability and flexibility.

"All online was a huge benefit," he said. "It was also cheaper than the other programs I was interested in."

The master's degree in community development's online format has allowed him to continue working full time while applying his new knowledge to teaching.

"I also made some great online friends who have encouraged me personally and professionally," Reeck said. "I didn't expect that from an online program."

Students in the community development program learn about economics, community change and sustainability. This has created new opportunities for Reeck outside of teaching in the future.

"The classes really helped me process ideas and systems regarding how communities work," he said. "I was also encouraged to reshape my thinking toward community."

North Dakota State University's master's in community development program is offered through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance.
