$4.8 Million to Support N.D. Emergency Services
North Dakota Ag Connection - 06/24/2016

Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, Thursday announced that the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness & Emergency Response has awarded $4,895,387 to the North Dakota State Department of Health.

"The North Dakota State Department of Health plays a valuable role in our state to protect the public, and an important part of that role is helping to ensure that patients have access to high quality emergency care when needed," Hoeven said. "Today's award will support hospitals, clinics, long term care facilities and emergency medical facilities by helping them plan for emergencies and provide care for infectious disease outbreaks."

The funds are part of the CDC's Hospital Preparedness Program, and the Department of Health will use the funds to fortify emergency preparedness in communities throughout the state.
