$283,000 in Grants to Rehab Rural Housing

Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development has awarded more than $283,000 in grants to help rehabilitate homes in Pierce, Ramsey and Ward Counties in North Dakota. The funds are awarded through the Rural Development Housing Preservation Grant program, which provides support for state, local, tribal and nonprofit entities to rehabilitate homes for low income individuals in rural areas and towns. Details are as follows:

- North Central Planning Council– $116,666

- Souris Basin Planning Council – $116,666

- Red River Regional Council – $50,000

“The USDA Rural Development Housing Preservation Program helps provide quality housing options in rural communities for those most in need,” said Hoeven. “Today’s funds will help to improve homes in Pierce, Ramsey and Ward Counties.”
