Agencies Can Apply for State Clean Diesel Grants
North Dakota Ag Connection - 11/08/2018
The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) is encouraging cities, counties and other government agencies that conduct work for the public and require diesel-powered vehicles or equipment to apply for State Clean Diesel Grant Program awards.
The NDDoH will issue about $274,000 in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency funding to purchase new diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Replacing older vehicles and equipment reduces diesel emissions in accordance with the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act. To date, 69 older vehicles in North Dakota have been replaced, and diesel emissions have dropped by about 225 tons over the lifetime of those vehicles.
Applications must be received by 4 p.m. CST on Dec. 21.
The application and guidelines are available at deq.nd.gov/AQ/News.aspx. For more information, contact Keith Hinnenkamp, Division of Air Quality, at 701.328.5188.
