N.D. Farm Bureau Elects Leaders

Delegates to the 75th NDFB Annual Meeting, held at the Holiday Inn, Fargo, reelected Daryl Lies of Douglas, to a two-year term as North Dakota Farm Bureau president. Dana Kaldor of Hillsboro, was elected vice president for a two-year term.

The NDFB Board of Directors is comprised of the president, elected at large, and individuals elected from each of the nine NDFB Districts, the Promotion and Education Committee chair and the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chair.

Lies was first elected as NDFB District 6 Director in 2013 and as NDFB President in 2015. He and his wife, Kim raise hogs, sheep and goats with an emphasis in show animals. He is active in McLean County Farm Bureau, is a 4-H leader and on the McLean County Fair Board. The Lies have two children.

Kaldor and his wife, Dawn, have a farm near Hillsboro and raise soybeans, corn and wheat. Kaldor was first elected to the NDFB board representing District 2 in 2015. He is a former Young Farm and Rancher Committee member and has served on the Traill County Farm Bureau Board as a director and president. The Kaldors have three children.

In addition, two members were elected and two others were reelected to their positions on the NDFB Board of Directors.

Lucas Lang of Sterling was elected to a three-year term as the District 7 director. Lang and his wife, Heather, farm near Sterling, raising barley, oats and flax. They also have a farrow to fork hog operation. Lang has served on the NDFB Young Farmer and Rancher Committee and has been active in Burleigh County Farm Bureau for several years. The Langs have three children.

Elected as Young Farmer and Rancher Committee Chairman is Brandon Lindstrom of West Fargo. Brandon farms with his parents, Pete and Malinda Lindstrom, raising corn and soybeans. Brandon is active in the Republican party, the North Dakota Soybean Council and the North Dakota Corn Growers' Association.

District 3 Director Tom Christensen, of Verona, was reelected to a third three-year term. Christensen and his wife, Nancy, have a fourth-generation farm where they raise corn and soybeans. They have three children. District 9 Director Weston Dvorak, of Manning, was reelected to a second three-year term. Dvorak and his wife, Teresa, operate a fourth-generation farm. They raise Angus cow-calf pairs and have a backgrounding feedlot. The Dvoraks have four children.

Other NDFB Directors are District 1 Director Nathan Green of St. Thomas, District 4 Director Chris Brossart of Wolford, District 5 Director Chad Weckerly of Hurdsfield, District 6 Director Nathan Fegley of Berthold, District 8 Director Kirk Olson of Arnegaard, and Promotion and Education Committee Chair Alysa Leier of Minot.
