Produced Water Spill Reported in Mountrail County

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) has been notified of a produced water spill resulting from a broken pipe connection at a salt water disposal (SWD) facility in Mountrail County. The SWD is owned by Basic Energy Services, LP. The incident
occurred about 7 miles southeast of Tioga on Sept. 15, and it was reported the next day. NDDoH issued a release about the spill Tuesday.
Initial estimates indicate approximately 500 barrels of produced water were released and impacted agricultural land. Personnel from the NDDoH have inspected the site and will continue to monitor the investigation and remediation.
