Coca-Cola Bottler to Invest $55 Million in New Facilities
USAgNet - 06/04/2020

Coca-Cola announced plans to invest $55 millions to build a new 400,000-square-foot plant in Whitestown, Ind.

North Carolina-based Coca-Cola Consolidated Inc. said construction begins this month on the distribution and automated warehouse facility.

The company said there will be 450 positions, including an unspecified number of new jobs. Some workers will be transferring from an Indianapolis plant, but the company said that the bottling plant will remain open.

"We are thrilled to welcome them," said Whitestown Town Council President Clinton Bohm. "Not only are they investing $55 million in a state-of-the-art facility, but they also have a strong emphasis on engaging in the local community. We look forward to building a partnership with them for years to come."

Coca -Cola Consolidated acquired distribution territories and manufacturing facilities in Indiana from The Coca-Cola Company in March 2017.

Despite a $15 million investment to the Indy plant, the company said it needs a new facility to keep up with demand and to provide more distribution capabilities.
